Apple expected to announce iPhone 5 and iPad mini on September 12th

(Rumored iPhone 5 compared to iPhone 4S)

It looks like Christmas is coming early to future iPhone 5 owners. Unlike last year's iPhone 4S event which was held in October, Apple is set to announce the iPhone 5 on September 12th with an expected launch on September 21st. The iPhone 5 is expected to have a 4" screen vs the current 3.5" screen on all iPhones, 4G LTE radio, a thinner casing, NFC capabilities, and a new smaller dock connector. Apple is also expected to announce a new member to the iPad family. The rumor mill is calling it the "iPad mini", it is believed to look exactly like the current 9.7" new iPad except it will be scaled down in size and feature a 7.85" screen.
